Two points are plotted on a number line: -11.2 and 3.3. What is
the distance between these two points?

So if you are thinking about a number line you are starting at +3.3 then going in the negatives direction to -11.2
To find the difference you would just subtract. 11.2 - 3.3 = -7.9
-7.9 is the answer
