One number is 6 more than twice the other number. if the sum of the two numbers is 36​, find the two numbers.

Hi,
Let assume x the greatest number
36-x is the other number.
x=6+2*(36-x)
==> x=6+72+2x==> 3x=78==> x=26
So tje other number is 36-26=10.
Proof: 26+10=36and 26=2*10+6
